I HATE Speedwork

Did my first speedwork session for this training period last night. I HATE speedwork! Yes I know it makes you a better, faster runner, but I still hate it. I think I hate it because a workout that lasts about 1/4 of the time of a normal run gives you the same after effects.....high heart rate and achy legs.

Instead of hitting the track, I learned how to set my Garmin for interval work and headed down 36th St. The stats below are for a 4 x 400 session with a warm up/cool down and a 2 min rest in between each interval. So when all was said and done, I ran each quarter mile at a around a 1:41 or a 6:40 per mile pace. I just kept saying, "Stronger runner, stronger runner."
